EFFEKT and Arkitema have officially begun work on a parallel commission to design the future of Refshaleøen as an archetypal Copenhagen district with an experimental edge.

The task:
Develop a structure plan for the entire area
Create a masterplan for the first stage

Refshaleøen is a place in constant transformation. It carries visible historical layers from its shipyard past, today it thrives with a diverse creative and cultural community, and it is defined by a unique atmosphere, self-grown urban nature along with its strong blue qualities.

Through the parallel commission, we’ll explore multiple approaches and work in close dialogue with stakeholders to ensure the area’s next chapter strengthens what’s already special — while addressing climate responsibility and giving space to nature and community.
