Introducing Stacked Gardens Fukuoka

We’re happy to share our design for a 6,000 m² biophilic residential project in Fukuoka, Japan.

Placed between a calm townhouse neighbourhood and the dynamic city centre, the design combines the best of both worlds: the intimacy and direct connection to light and air typical of townhouses, with the density and convenience of urban living.

The six-story building is composed of a stack of smaller volumes, creating a sculpted expression that breaks down the overall scale. This approach allows daylight to reach deep into the homes, while also carving out space for gardens, terraces, and greenery at every level, all while maintaining a very simple structural concept.

Residents can enjoy private balconies surrounded by plants, communal outdoor areas, and vibrant rooftop terraces that transform the building into an urban oasis.

Inside, diverse living units and generous shared facilities offer places to gather, socialize, and expand daily life beyond the apartment – supporting a strong sense of community.
