Such an honour to receive this year's Best Project Award 2023 for SIMAC, nominated by Svendborg's Architecture Council. According to the jury, SIMAC has been awarded for the following reasons:

“A generous building has been created that not only connects with its surroundings through its design but also through being accessible to the public all the way up to the rooftop terrace. The construction allows for open use and flexibility in everyday life as well as over time, contributing to the building's longevity. The Architecture Council finds the building exceptionally well integrated into the city's existing harbour environment. With its scale and raw and simple structure, the building references the local environment in a new narrative that allows the building to point to the future with respect for the cultural heritage and maritime history it is situated in the midst of.”

We were happy to participate in the award ceremony yesterday on Denmark’s yearly Architecture Day in the good company of Svendborg Kommune, C.F. Møller Architects and SIMAC - Svendborg International Maritime Academy.
