For the past half year EFFEKT has been working on the plans for the future development of Refshaleøen, one of the most significant urban development opportunities in Copenhagen’s recent history.

Our proposal explores how Refshaleøen’s industrial heritage, cultural life, and unique relationship with water can shape a vibrant new urban district for Copenhagen. Public life and nature forms the foundation of our proposal, while traces of the former shipyard is carefully woven into the architecture and landscape of future neighborhoods.
