Hyllegaard Høje

The masterplan of Hyllegaard is placed in the city of Hvalsø, and a 45 minutes drive outside Copenhagen. The masterplan is centered around an existing farm, Hyllegaard, which brings brings life into the community by offering a wide range of activities and amenities such as creative workshops, yoga classes, office communities, guest rooms, storage and more. The vision for the masterplan is to create an area around Hyllegaard for modern communities and is designed for the challanges of the future.

This is done by rethinking a number of elements in relation to our way of building, living and inhabit; the impact of climate change, the conversion to renewable energy, the use of natural building materials, the creation of smarter waste systems, local workplaces, space for wild nature, local food production, culture-creating facilities and a strong resident-driven community with people of all ages and stages of life.

The masterplan is divided into six individual clusters with each their own qualities, character and community. A common house is placed in the center of each cluster and will function as the local gathering space and a house for community for each cluster.

The masterplan of Hyllegaard integrate nature and green landscape corridors connect the housing clusters internally, but at the same time function as the common areas between the six clusters. South of the six clusters is a large area for permaculture, which both function as a space for local food production and a common space for Hyllegaard and Hvalsø.
